General Lumber Products Pte Ltd (GLP); a specialist in tropical species woods trading and manufacturing was established in 1985. GLP started from a humble beginning as a small trader catered mainly to the Japanese timber buyers. Over the past 20 years our exporting volume to Japan has increased substantially. Pride in our quality control our products have also reached the shores of Australia, New Zealand , Austria, Italy, Holland, Germany, China, Indonesia, Taiwan and Vietnam.

With two manufacturing plants and large warehousing facilities located in Johor state of Malaysia, GLP has the capability to process logs to sawn lumber slaps, timber seasoning as well as engineered timbers meeting most of the global market’s stringent requirements. GLP also maintains its own stockpiles which enable us to provide merchandise at shorter notice and delivery lead-time.

Our Philosophy is to conduct each and every businesses base on the Principles of Integrity and Prudence. We adopt the Management Policy of maintaining Good Customers Service with Panache as our role and focus on nurturing long-term relationships with our valued customers. Quality pervades in everything we do - from client relations, finest attention to all the timber processing and till timely delivery of goods. We are appreciative towards Mother Nature for the endowment of plantation and forest greens and shall exercise our utmost effort to reduce wastage, recycle and reuse in protecting the environment.

GLP maintains a lean and modest business structure. The business unit consists of Lumber Trading Department (LTD) and Timber Sales Department (TSD) The LTD trades on conditioned lumbers whilst the TSD markets our group company, Modern Timber Products’ (MTP) value-added timbers. The consolidated export volume in 2006 was more than 30,000 cubic metres.

GLP is constantly looking to expand beyond its core business of timber manufacturing and supply. As for global market expansion, we are developing new markets such USA, Canada, Middle East and India. In new horizon businesses, GLP is continuously exploring synergistic objectives with potential business partners that could benefits mutually as well as delivering sustainable shareholder’s value on a consistent and prudent basis.
